Namejs' Ring with its mystical powers along with gold treasures are stolen from the villages of Semigallia by the Livonian Order. By taking away the ring, invaders expect to crash the will of the free Semgalian people. The black crusaders have been using brutal force on the so called last pagans of Europe for the satisfaction of their bishop ruling from Riga and his masters in Rome. The treasures are to be alloyed and used to finance new mercenary units to lock up the free people in Semigallia and attack Lithuanian territories to the south. You are one of the ancient Baltic tribal “viking” heroes. Your task is to find and take back the stolen assets. As you approach the ring, your strength grows and weaponry improves. You are able to help your people and win back the power of Namejs’ Ring. But if not, you have to leave your people in the mercy of black crusaiders and retreat into Lithuania to join their king Traidens. Which way will you end up?
The origins of Namejs’ Ring can be traced back in the legends from historical events of 12th and 13th centuries. During these times the crusaders came into the territories of Semigallian, other Baltic and Estonian related tribes and started their assaults on so called last European pagans. The creation of the game has been inspired by the Latvian movie The Pagan King produced in 2018 (check out the trailer here) which has originated from the Latvian national stories about the king Namejs. Game characters are made in Japanese Chibi style, widely used in manga, animations and video games all around the world. Thus, the game is not only a unique case of Latvian ancient stories available on Apple iOS platform, but also a nice blend of diverse styles and motives.
